Appointment as Acting Pastor for Chaplain Arockia
Chaplain Arockia Belavendran has received a new appointment, which unfortunately means that he will be leaving our parish after almost five years. Our bishop, Mgr. De Korte, has appointed him acting parish priest of the Peerke Donders parish in Tilburg, effective 1 November.
Over these years, Chaplain Arockia has become so thoroughly at home here that we all find it hard to let him go. Dedicated and steadfast, he has been one of the mainstays of our pastoral work to this day. We are very grateful to him for that.
With this significant appointment as parish priest in Tilburg, the bishop underlines his explicit confidence in Chaplain Arockia. We congratulate him and pray that he may be richly blessed in this new mission.
We will bid him a fitting farewell at the locations where Chaplain Arockia has been a very familiar face over these years:
on Sunday 18 October at 11:00 in St. Joris Church, on 24 October at 19:00 in Pius X Church, and on Sunday 25 October at 9:30 in St. Martinus Church. After the Eucharist at each of these locations, there will be ample opportunity, over coffee and tea, to shake his hand and offer him our gratitude and good wishes.
The diocese is still working on finding his successor, and we hope to be able to inform you about this soon as well.
On behalf of the pastoral team and parish board,
Fr. René Wilmink, Parish Priest
