Open Evening
Lecture extremists and conspiracy thinkers Friday evening, December 20, 8:00 p.m.
Reading extremists and conspiracy thinkers
Extremists, fundamentalists, terrorists, conspiracy theorists.
Their number and influence is growing, not only in the U.S., but also in our country.
They are not madmen or wappies but ordinary rational people, says Rik Peels (1983).
Understand them can prevent radicalization better than just fight them.
Peels is a professor of philosophy and theology at VU University of Amsterdam and has led an international research project on fundamentalism and extremism since 2019.
When:
Friday evening, Dec. 20, he will speak about the results of this research at the monthly Open Evening at St. George Parish and will address questions from the audience.
His presentation begins at 8 p.m. (walk-in with coffee from 7:30 p.m.).
From 9:30 p.m., there will be the opportunity for exchange with a snack and a drink.
Access is free, registration is not required.
Location:Sint Jorislaan 51, Eindhoven (near Parktheater).
