The spirituality of Henri Nouwen
by Leo Feijen
Leo Fijen, as a journalist, writer and program maker, has made the richness of Christian spirituality accessible to many.
He has a special connection with the work of Henri Nouwen.
During this lecture, he will discuss the spirituality of Henri Nouwen, priest and writer, who touched countless people worldwide with his words about faith, vulnerability and connection.
Nouwen (1932-1996) taught at leading universities such as Harvard and Yale, but ultimately chose a simple life in the community of L'Arche Daybreak in Canada, where people with and without intellectual disabilities live together. There he discovered in a deeper way what it means to be a beloved child of God.
His openness about loneliness, brokenness and the longing for connection makes his work especially timely to this day.
This lecture offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the lasting significance of Nouwen's message for our lives today.
